Social Studies Curriculum

  • NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

    The 91社区 91社区 will conduct a Public Hearing for the Elementary, Middle, and High School Social Science Instructional Materials Adoption during the regular meeting of the 91社区 at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Members of the public are encouraged to observe and participate. The new instructional materials will be presented to the Board again on June 18, 2024 for final review and adoption. 

    SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUM ADOPTION DETAILS

    This year, our district created committees to identify new Social Studies curriculum for adoption for all grade levels; Elementary (grades K-5), Middle (grades 6-8), and High (grades 9-12).

    We are delighted to share the following Social Studies curriculum that has been selected for each level:

    This inquiry-based curriculum is aligned to the These standards emphasize historical narrative, highlight the roles of significant individuals throughout history, and convey the rights and obligations of citizenship. The curriculum incorporates new scholarship and recent state mandates such as the Fair, Accurate, Inclusive, and Respectful (FAIR) Act. 

    This curriculum is available in English and Spanish and provides support for our students who are emerging bilinguals. The curriculum offers a dynamic, student-centered social studies curriculum that helps teachers prepare students to be successful in college, careers, and civic life.

    We invite you to preview Social Science instructional materials between May 14, 2024 - June 13, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the following locations:
