•        The third grade teaching team includes Carol King, Victoria Nagey, Tara Lutz, Lauren Sutter and myself.  We work together -- collaborating and sharing ideas regarding effective teaching methods and best practices in order to provide a caring school community which maximizes learning and achieves student confidence and success.

In the third grade we have many programs, strong curriculum, and fun activities. We have engaging and rigorous learning in the classrooms addressing students' needs with differentiated instruction during our P.A.L. (personalized academic learning) periods, understanding math concepts using Pearson curriculum, reading and writing using the district adopted Benchmarks program, and engaging in spelling/reading/phonics using our Sonday program.   We create art projects, read culturally diverse materials and classics such as Charlotte's Web, write poetry, stories, informative and opinion-based pieces. This year I plan to bring back public speaking, where students will write and present speeches each month. We have many fun P.E. activities for the children including games, relay races, gaga ball, and my personal favorite - square dancing.  Each week, my class visits our "buddy" class where we learn to work with and help the younger, first grade students in Ms. Baker's classroom. The third grade program is fun and rigorous in a safe, accepting, learning environment.
